DISCLAIMER

Homeless To Independence Inc. is a 501©3 non-profit organization. We are self supporting and we do NOT receive any  government grant funding what-so-ever to pay bills for anyone in any situation. We do not give away money. We do not give out loans against any money.

This ministry is supported with generous financial donations that are used to help keep us functioning. Our purpose is to help supply individuals and families with personal needs such as food, toiletries, clothing, household items and baby/adult diapers/wipes both locally and to areas affected by disasters. At this time, we do not offer any shelter or transitional housing services. Again, we DO NOT pay any bills. We DO NOT pay any rents or mortgages.

If you are actually homeless, or about to be homeless or need emergency assistance of any kind, DIAL “211” from a land-line telephone. This will not work from a cell telephone. Tell the receiver your situation and what you need. They will give you information specific for the location you are currently in plus any referrals you may need.  They have the most up to the minute information for your specific area. Dialing “211” will get you help and much more info than this office can provide. Homeless to Independence wants you to have all the information you need to get through the situation you are in.

Don’t have a land-line telephone???  Go to your local police department, library, or house of worship and ask to use their land-line telephone. They may even make the call on your behalf.

07-03-26 WEST VIRGINIA COOLING CENTERS

(WOWK) – With extreme heat in the forecast for this week, communities are preparing by opening cooling centers.

Several counties are already under heat advisories due to high temperatures brought to the region by a heat dome.

Officials say community members should remember to check in on their neighbors and take advantage of available resources to help prevent heat-related illnesses for themselves and others.

“If you have someone and you see they are really hot… share that they can come here and go somewhere to cool off. There’s water here, there will be popsicles… folks can hang out during all those hours, specifically the hottest hours of the day… so absolutely if anyone sees anyone please send them our way… they don’t have to see someone suffering thinking there’s not an option for them,” said Seth King, Executive Director of the Bream Neighborhood SHOP.

Delbarton Food Distribution Center Now Open

WOW! Twenty-nine very grateful families were served on the opening day at our Food Distribution Center.
What a great opportunity it was to serve our community in this way.

We want to extend a special “thank-you” to all who made it possible. Our awesome, compassionate volunteers and staff did a beautiful job of ministering help and hope to those in need. We were even able to witness to and have prayer with some of our clients, and in all it was a great day. I am so excited I can hardly wait to do it again.

There is something awesome that takes place inside of you when you serve another’s need. I have worked in a lot of different ministries, have had great worship times and personal time with God, but something happens inside of me when I see that glimmer of hope come upon a face that once was darkened by hopelessness. What a deep dark despair hopelessness can bring to a soul. It builds a trap that for most is impossible to escape. It’s
the box within a box within a box. The victim of despair often can’t climb out without a helping hand. Thankfully, we serve a God Who specializes in setting free the captive!

Thank you for allowing us the privilege to be His hands extended and to share hope with our region.
Sometimes, something as simple as a box of food and a hug is all it takes to push away the clouds and allow the “Son” to shine through.

In Christ,

June Jude
House of Hope Director

Note: The Delbarton Food Distribution Center is set to open on the fourth Monday of each month from 10 AM to 2 PM to serve needy families of the Tug Valley region. For more information, contact June Jude at 304-235-1678,
