Homeless To Independence Inc. is a 501©3 non-profit organization. We are self supporting and we do NOT receive any government grant funding what-so-ever to pay bills for anyone in any situation. We do not give away money. We do not give out loans against any money.
This ministry is supported with generous financial donations that are used to help keep us functioning. Our purpose is to help supply individuals and families with personal needs such as food, toiletries, clothing, household items and baby/adult diapers/wipes both locally and to areas affected by disasters . At this time, we do not offer any shelter or transitional housing services. Again, we DO NOT pay any bills. We DO NOT pay any rents or mortgages.
If you are actually homeless, or about to be homeless or need emergency assistance of any kind, DIAL “211” from a land-line telephone. This will not work from a cell telephone. Tell the receiver your situation and what you need. They will give you information specific for the location you are currently in plus any referrals you may need. They have the most up to the minute information for your specific area. Dialing “211” will get you help and much more info than this office can provide. Homeless to Independence wants you to have all the information you need to get through the situation you are in.
Don’t have a land-line telephone??? Go to your local police department, library, or house of worship and ask to use their land-line telephone. They may even make the call on your behalf.

This is a Sales and Management focused career fair. This is an in-person hiring event for Atlanta and the surrounding area. It’s designed to connect job seekers with hiring managers from several companies in one location.
This is not a “cattle call” career fair crowded with hundreds of other candidates and lines out the door. Candidates enjoy an intimate setting that begins with a short presentation from each hiring manager, to help them know which specific opportunities are a good fit.

Speech Format: The event begins with company presentations. A representative from each hiring company gives an overview of their company, industry and current opportunities. Many job seekers prefer this format because it is informative and leads to high quality interactions without waiting in long lines.
Networking: The best way to land a new career is through networking. This event is a networking experience with recruiters and decision makers that have influence, which ensures you’re meeting face to face with the right people. Job seekers can develop strong contacts that extend beyond their natural network.
Sales and Sales Management Focused Opportunities: We work with companies that hire sales and sales management related opportunities in multiple industries. This is a focused professional hiring event geared for professionals interested in a client facing role. Job seekers without a formal sales background are welcome to attend too! If you are open to hearing about new opportunities in sales or sales management, then this event is right for you!

NOW – POSITIVE EMPLOYMENT SEARCHING
In order to be considered by a prospective employer, first impressions ARE the most important! Get a haircut, fresh clothes, and shower – Make your BEST effort to make your BEST impression!!! There are agencies to help you with clothes. Even if you are homeless at this point in time, you can get a fresh shower at a shelter in your area. There ARE other housing options in the county and you can do it!

Please follow these suggestions:
• First have your resume prepared. There are libraries that will do them free of charge. Provide honest information.
• Next I would like to discuss the application. I strongly suggest for you to pick up a paper application, fill it out totally! This will be your “Cheat Sheet” and will show your prospective employer that you are organized and ready. Pulling 50-million sheets of paper out of your pocket while filling out an application looks BAD! DO NOT ABBREVIATE! Do NOT even abbreviate “New Jersey”. Do NOT leave any space blank; if the requested
information does not apply to you simply put “N/A” in that block. Apply as a responsible, dependable and employable person.
• Have all of your identification ready.
• Choose your references carefully also. Now that you have made positive changes, I strongly suggest that you offer people that and have witnessed your new lifestyle.
• Do not be afraid to offer certificates of accomplishment such as computer classes, parenting classes,
first aid classes, etc.
• Have your interview clothes ready the night before and take a fresh shower in the morning. (I am, at this time, working on barbers and salons that will donate haircuts. More information to come as I make those arrangements).
• Always keep in prayer. No matter what, life can only get better as long as you choose to make the positive changes to change your own life.
