Homeless To Independence Inc. is a 501©3 non-profit organization. We are self supporting and we do NOT receive any government grant funding what-so-ever to pay bills for anyone in any situation. We do not give away money. We do not give out loans against any money.

This ministry is supported with generous financial donations that are used to help keep us functioning. Our purpose is to help supply individuals and families with personal needs such as food, toiletries, clothing, household items, furniture and baby/adult diapers/wipes both locally and to areas affected by disasters . At this time, we do not offer any shelter or transitional housing services. Again, we DO NOT pay any bills. We DO NOT pay any rents or mortgages.

If you are actually homeless, or about to be homeless or need emergency assistance of any kind, DIAL “211” from a land-line telephone. This will not work from a cell telephone. Tell the receiver your situation and what you need. They will give you information specific for the location you are currently in plus any referrals you may need. They have the most up to the minute information for your specific area. Dialing “211” will get you help and much more info than this office can provide. Homeless to Independence wants you to have all the information you need to get through the situation you are in.

Don’t have a land-line telephone??? Go to your local police department, library, or house of worship and ask to use their land-line telephone. They may even make the call on your behalf.

11-16-25 Good Morning Everyone!

As most of you see on here, a very good portion posted is for our fund raising needs. Homeless To Independence Inc is not only volunteer, we also provide all of our services without grant funding!

Over the past 19+ years we have developed regular routes we service within New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania serving shelters, dv shelters, food pantries, soup kitchens, clothing closets/street ministries, tent cities , senior communities, veterans and so many more venues with needed supplies.

In addition, we also help out with disasters. Besides the normal earthquakes and hurricanes experience here in the upper 48 States, we also follow with some of the best storm chasers in the industry and as violent storms with tornados, flooding and/or damaging winds occur, we respond to the areas local Mayors and OEM’s and offer assistance of sending needed supplies such as baby diapers/wipes/formula and senior diabetic socks, etc.

Our storm response radiates all 50-States and our territories.

We also monitor many freecycle sites and social media platforms for folks looking for assistance with home health items such as walkers, canes, shower chairs, wheelchairs and we pass them on without any charge.

When you see the energizer bunny you will think of me – as we are nonstop! There are days I do fall asleep in the van coming home.

Homeless To Independence Inc. is B I G! on small business and we are proud to support not only small business’ but veteran owned small business’ – even with store fixtures we get donated at times.

Thank you for taking the time and allowing me to reiterate why we have so much fundraising to accomplish – it is to cover all the expenses of operations and to keep the tires rolling down the road.

11-16-25 This coming week’s Homeless To Independence Inc.’s local Quakertown PA Outreach

On Mon, Nov 17, 2025 we will be delivering one (1) Box of baked goods from Garden Spot Bakery along with two (2) cases of protein drinks & soda.

On Tues, Nov 18, we will be dropping off one (1) box of baked goods from Garden Spot Bakery, parchment paper and foil to Angel’s Table and;

One (1) box baked goods from Garden Spot Bakery, along with toiletries, panty hose to the River of Life Pantry, Phillipsburg, NJ.

Last week on Wed, Nov 12th, 2025, a beautiful assortment of nail polishes was handed off to Maria S. with LVAIP for their seniors upcoming holiday baskets and giveaways.

Our nonprofit is 19-yrs old, all volunteer & we do it without grant funding!

Please remember, that if you are in the Greater Quakertown, PA area and just have a small amount of non-perishable goods, you are welcome to drop off at our:

10-17-25 Donating to Homeless To Independence Inc. Guidelines

Thank you for donating your goods to Homeless To Independence Inc. Following is
the how to and the what…

We accept anything as long as it is legal.

a) We do not accept any clothing that has holes, is dirty, with holes in the pockets, no rips or tears.

b) Glassware, pottery, ceramics cannot have breaks, chips, cracks – so much of the older pieces were made with lead and the breaks can harm those handling the pieces.

c) We gladly accept old trains, comics, old games and electronics, old records, camping equipment (for our tent cities outreach in 3-States), etc.

d) Furniture by appointment please – we are currently limited on space and we prefer to have a receiving family ready for your wonderful pieces, as our donated furniture pieces go in that direction.

e) If you have nonperishable and canned foods, that are non expired and don’t have the time to drop off at the food pantry, you are welcome to bring them to our location, during normal Qmart hours and we will get it all dropped during the next week on a weekly basis!

During the holiday seasons, we accept Giant Food Stores Ham Gift Certificates for families in need – they are always needed.

f) Donate a raffle basket for upcoming raffle and 50/50 events.

g) We are always in need of plastic and paper bags (with handles also) – this helps defray the cost of purchasing and helps keep them out of the landfill.

h) Donate your vehicle, camper – we have individuals and families in need – especially vehicles to help them get to their gainful employment.

An official tax receipt if provided for your tax records.

OUR PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Homeless To Independence Inc. is an extremely active 19-year-old, all-volunteer, non-profit. We work with the homeless, the working poor, our veterans and their families, and anyone in need due to natural or manmade disasters nationwide and our territories.

With the homeless, we:

work daily as a need arises assisting them with information to get them into shelters, food, identification, – pointing them in the right direction.
Pass out donated coats, hats, gloves, scarves, warm clothing especially during the cold weather months;
Tent cities: we assist with donated tents, camping supplies for cooking, hygiene items, laundry items, blankets, pillows, socks, clothing, sleeping bags, manual can openers, trash bags to gather their trash, zip lock bags (for their important papers) and non-perishable canned foods. We especially pay attention to times when there is excessive rain and help to provide fresh blankets and such, because their items do get wet.

With the working poor, veterans, and their families, we:

establish relationships with various realtors and private landlords, working with both sides of the fence attempting to successfully bring about a meeting of the minds, with a fair rental package for both the renter and prospective landlord;
Pass on food and food packages as donated, sometimes perishable during the holidays;
Pass out donated coats, hats, gloves, scarves, warm clothing especially during the cold weather months;
Much of our outreach is with tent cities that do house a high percentage of our service veterans.

With those of natural disasters and manmade disasters we:

Prior to a foreseen event such as an incoming tropical storm, hurricane, extreme tornado producing thunderstorms and tornado alerts, tsunami alerts, and the like, we post everything to all our social media venues in real time (all social media venues are listed below);
work reverently with all the realtors and private landlords asking for them to agree to accept payment from disaster response teams for a period to get their housing back in order.
Homeless To Independence Inc. does send items to disaster harmed area on a needed basis and are not limited to baby diapers, baby wipes, baby formula, cleaning up supplies, seniors need items such as diabetic socks and more.

PLEASE NOTE: HOMELESS TO INDEPENDENCE, INC. DOES HAVE AN “EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND DISASTER RESPONSE” PAGE ON OUR WEBSITE FOR EACH STATE/COMMONWEALTH & TERRITORY.

Homeless To Independence Inc. is dedicated to helping families and individuals with items of need such as furniture within the State of New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New York, northern Maryland, and Delaware. There is currently a closed waiting list because the need is so severe. We do not pass on broken, ripped, smelly, dirty, or buggy items – in fact we do NOT take items in those conditions.

On February 28^th, 2025 our 19^th Annual Multi-State Winter Outerwear Drive ended, and we served well over 30K people in 5-States with winter outerwear items. On October 1^st, 2025, we will start our 20^th Annual Multi-State Winter Outerwear Drive. This will run through the last day of February 2026, however, if there is still a need into March, we continue. We collaborate with various entities, such as tent cities, homeless organizations, meal services, elementary school social workers, domestic violence shelters, etc. in passing these items out.

All clothing items collected are sorted warm weather and cold weather. All off-season clothing is packed in totes and stored for the upcoming season.
We do have a washer and dryer used for freshening up clothing, towels, and bedding as needed.
