Effective April 17, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) adjusted the mileage reimbursement rates for privately owned vehicles. The rate for cars increased 4.5 cents to 55.5 cents per mile. This increase brings the GSA rate up to the same level as the IRS rate.

VOLUNTEER RECEPTIONIST JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Are you looking to volunteer your time as a receptionist? This is a traditional unpaid volunteer position involving following frequent set procedures and routines. This position can include working with data and details more than with ideas. Usually there is a clear line of authority to follow. This volunteer receptionist position requires being careful about detail, being reliable, responsible, and dependable. This position requires integrity, initiative and innovation to get the job done. You must be able to manage your own time and the time of others.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Require to keep records of materials filed or removed, using methods of logbooks or computer.

· Must be able to perform day-to-day administrative tasks, such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.

· Ability to perform general office duties such as typing, operating office machines, and sorting mail and answering phone and taking messages.

· Must be able to organize, plan, and prioritize to accomplish task.

· Knowledge of how to retrieve information from files when request.

· Able to scan or read incoming materials to determine how and where they should be classified or filed.

· Place materials into storage receptacles, such as file cabinets, boxes, bins, or drawers, according to classification and identification information.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Knowledge of Microsoft office suite such as Word, Excel, Power point applications.

· Performs clerical duties with the ability to assist with general office task.

· Conception of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing.

· Familiar with the structure and content of the English language.

· Must be aware and understand principles and processes for providing customer with complete satisfaction.

· Outstanding interpersonal, organization and communication skills.

· Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

· Must be able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses and how to approach and help to solve problems.

· Veteran (military) representation.

· Flexible schedule that will work in junction with office hours.

VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION SUMMARY
As an Administrative Assistant at “Homeless To Independence Inc.” your duties will basically be to provide support to the Founder and CEO, department heads for volunteers, public information officer and more depending on the needs of the company.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT VOLUNTEER PRIMARY DUTIES

Outstanding interpersonal, organization and communications skills.
Enthusiastic, dedicated and a drive to succeed.
Strong office and internet skills. Microsoft Word or other software.
Combination of answering calls and taking care of messages, photocopying, printing, faxing, and filing as needed.
Handle e-mail correspondence, tracking of business cards, important phone numbers, addresses, and any other data needed.
Creating mailers or promotional items such as emails/thank you cards according to level of priority and follow up needed.
Available Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm. (You commit to a schedule that works for you.)

VOLUNTEER DONATIONS PICK-UP & DELIVERY DRIVERS

At “Homeless To Independence Inc.” we support families and individuals in maintaining their independence as much as possible. You are more than welcome to donate as much time as you like. This organization appreciates all the time any volunteer is willing to give.

The donations that “Homeless To Independence Inc.” receives sometimes consist of food, clothing, hygiene products, and toys for children and emergency supplies. Average weight of packages is anywhere from one (1) pound to 25-pounds, but generally 3-7 pounds. You will be on a team with one or more additional people. These donations need to be delivered to individuals, collaborating agencies and street ministries to help those in need. No one wants to be without a means to provide for their children or their love ones. Crisis happens never by choice, but yet they happen every single day. The disaster is a ripple effect on the community not just the individual.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY – STATEWIDE OUTREACH

At “Homeless To Independence Inc.” our organization along with our great volunteer staff supports families and individuals in keeping their independence as much as possible. We respectfully reach out to help bear the burdens of service by providing veterans and families with financial, educational, and encouragement support which are needed. Our organization mission is to empower the homeless to transform their situation, by connecting them to employment and affordable housing and homeless resources services and in-between resources. Far too many shelters have waiting lists that are very long. Couples with children, singles moms and single dads are living in shelters, motels, hotels and using “temporary” rental assistance (TRA) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) statewide. These are just some of the many target area needing some support.

At “Homeless To Independence Inc.” we can’t do it alone. We desperately need local and statewide outreach programs to help us to reach out to those in need. Our team firmly believes no one wants to be without a place to call home or means to feed their children or love ones. We need help from existing local and statewide outreach services to help provide the basic human needs by stabilizing those in crisis. We believe everybody deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their personal circumstances.

VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION SUMMARY

“Homeless To Independence Inc.” volunteers are a select group of high-level volunteers responsible for assisting the organization in helping the community. We need experience volunteers that will help keep our families in homes and off the streets. Volunteer positions are monetary unpaid but a heartfelt reward. Volunteers are expected to be flexible and responsive to changes in the scope of their duties. Volunteers are expected to prove professional work habits including but not limited to being committed to a mutual work schedule agreed upon.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Volunteer set committed hours per week (weekday, evening and possible weekend hours_TBD based on volunteer’s schedule and needs).
Help assist target families with and without children. Help to deliver coats, provide diapers for those in needs, and provide discount coupons for redemption on food and many person items. etc

QUALIFICATIONS

Outstanding interpersonal, organization and communication skills.
Enthusiasm, dedication, and a drive to succeed.
Performs clerical duties with the ability to assist with general office task and events.
Must be able to easily travel within and around a variety of locations, for job-related activities.
Veteran (military) representation a plus but not required.
Proficiency in Spanish is highly recommended.
