As of July 31st,2017, We have a wait list, and we are taking applications for babies/toddlers to receive diapers.

We offer Preemie, Newborn and Sizes 1 through 6 in Infant and Baby Diapers, Wipes (while supplies last) and Powdered Baby Formula on an appointment only bases here at our Union Beach, NJ location.

Only the custodial parent or legal guardian can pick up the diapers – legal documentation must be provided!

NO EXCEPTIONS!

Once you secure an appointment day and time, that will be your time every 4-weeks, I will not be able to serve you if you are early or late, as there are others coming also before and after. A few days before your second appointment and then on, I will reach out to you to verify what size diapers you will need, as children do grow and I want to make sure I have your size in stock.

The first time you come I need you to have your child(ren) with you, so that we can verify that you do indeed have children in diapers – there are so many scams out there, I cannot take a chance of serving those that are merely going to take the diapers and resell them or return them for money.
Once your appointment is set it will be the same day and time and every four(4) weeks from then on.

At your first appointment, we will also take a picture of you and your children for our records and identification purposes.

In order to keep proper records, you will also need to bring all of the following:
• Non-expired State or Federal Drivers License/ID card
• Proof of Address – piece of mail at your current address
• Birth Certificate(s) for each of the children receiving diapers
• I need a written list of the names, ages, sizes of every single person at your specific address.
• I need a written list of hygiene allergies that anyone in your household may have to a specific soap, shampoo, etc, so that I will not give you something you cannot use. We do have hygiene products donated from time to time.
• I need a written list of food allergies that anyone in your household may have; peanuts, diary, etc. as we do have food donations from time to time.

This information is needed to show our donors that we do indeed have people that require our services and outreach. This will help our program to grow and develop outreach into additional areas down the road.

From your second appointment and on you, when coming for your diapers, will need to show your non-expired State or Federal ID card and also advise us of any updates to address, household member information, allergies, etc.

ANYONE CAUGHT BEING DISHONEST ABOUT ANYTHING WILL BE IMMEDIATELY REMOVED FROM THIS PROGRAM!

Homeless To Independence Inc. is an All-Volunteer, Faith-Based, 501©3 non-profit organization located in New Jersey. We do NOT receive any grant funding what-so-ever to pay bills for anyone in any situation. We do not give away money. We do not give out loans against any items for money.

This ministry is supported with generous financial donations that are used to help keep us functioning. Our purpose is to help supply individuals and families with personal needs such as food, toiletries, clothing, household items, furniture and baby/adult diapers/wipes both locally and to areas effected by disasters . At this time, we do not offer any shelter or transitional housing services. Again, we DO NOT pay any bills. We DO NOT pay any rents or mortgages.

If you are actually homeless, or about to be homeless or need emergency assistance of any kind, you can:

1. DIAL “211” from a:

a. Land line telephone. Tell the receiver your situation and what you need. They will give you information specific for the physical location you are currently at plus any referrals you may need. They have the most up to the minute information for your specific area. Dialing “211” will get you help and much more info than this office can provide. Homeless to Independence wants you to have all the information you need to get through the situation you are in.

b. Cell Telephone – This will ONLY bring you to the correct information center in the area code within the very same City/Town in the County & State you purchased/acquired your cell telephone in!

PLEASE NOTE: If you do not have a land-line telephone or cell telephone, go to your local police department, library, or house of worship and ask to use their land-line telephone. They may even make the call on your behalf.
